The Aceca Power Plant is a combined cycle gas and steam power plant in the municipality of Villaseca de la Sagra , Toledo Province , Spain . The installed capacity of the power plant is 800 MW . The generation of block 3 was 689 million kWh in 2017 , the generation of block 4 in 2007 was 2.595 billion kWh.
Owner and operator
Unit 3 of the power plant is owned by Iberdrola Generación, SAU and operated by Iberdrola Operación y Mantenimiento, SAU , a subsidiary of Iberdrola Generación. The block 4 of the power plant is owned by Naturgy also operated and of Naturgy.
Power plant units
The power plant currently consists of two units that went into operation in 2005 and 2006. The following table gives an overview:
block | Max. Power (MW) | Start of operation | turbine | generator | Steam boiler | status |
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
1 | 314 | 1969 | Westinghouse | Westinghouse | Combustion engineering | Shut down |
2 | 314 | Westinghouse | Westinghouse | Combustion engineering | Shut down | |
3 | 400 | 2005 | GE | GE | NEM | |
4th | 400 | 2006 | GE | GE | Doosan |
The installed capacity of units 1 and 2 is given as 313.5 (or 314 or 315). In December 2012, permission was given to shut down and then demolish the blocks. Both blocks used heavy oil as fuel.
The installed capacity of Unit 3 is given as 386 (or 400). The gas turbine has a maximum output of 250 MW and the steam turbine a maximum of 150 MW. Unit 3 went into commercial operation in July 2005 (after three months of trial operation).
In blocks 3 and 4, the gas and steam turbines are connected to a common shaft ( single-shaft ).
