The Arcos de la Frontera power plant is a gas-fired power plant in the municipality of Arcos de la Frontera in the province of Cádiz ( Andalusia , Spain ).
The gas and steam combined cycle power plant operated with natural gas was built in two stages with a total investment of around 800 million euros. The plant was planned and built by General Electric . The operator and owner is 100 percent Iberdrola SA with the Operation & Maintenance IOMSA section . The location is around 15 kilometers south of Arcos de la Frontera.
The power plant has a total installed capacity of around 1.6 GW , which is distributed over three power plant blocks. The first two blocks went online in 2004, and the project was completed in 2005 with the final construction phase.
