The Bahía de Algeciras power plant ( Spanish Central térmica Bahía de Algeciras ) is a combined cycle gas and steam power plant in the municipality of San Roque , Cádiz province , Spain . The installed capacity of the power plant is 800 (or 820 or 830) MW . It is owned by Repsol . The power plant went into operation in 1970; the combined cycle power plant was put into operation in March 2011.

Unit 2 was operated with heavy oil . The steam turbine in Unit 2 was converted in 2011 and then used as a steam turbine for the combined cycle power plant (Unit 3). The costs for the combined cycle power plant are given as more than € 400 million.
