The power plant Mae Klong is a hydroelectric power plant in the district of Tha Muang , province of Kanchanaburi , Thailand . The associated weir dams the Mae Klong into a small reservoir.
The weir was built from 1964 to 1970; it was originally used for irrigation. The power plant was built in 2013 and went into operation in January 2014. It is owned and operated by the Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT).
Barrier structure
The shut-off is a dam with eight military fields. The height of the weir system is 14 and the length 150 m.
Reservoir
At the normal storage target of 22.5 m above sea level , the reservoir holds 38.8 (or 50) million m³ of water, of which 8.2 million m³ can be used to generate electricity. The minimum stowage destination is 15 m. The maximum storage target is 23.66 m.
power plant
The installed capacity of the power plant with two turbines is 12 MW . The planned annual production is 74 million kWh . In 2015, the generation was 33.32 million kWh. The machine house is to the side of the weir on a small diversion channel.
