The Meirama Power Plant ( Spanish Central térmica de Meirama ) is a coal-fired power plant in the municipality of Cerceda , Autonomous Community of Galicia , Spain .

The installed capacity of the power plant is 563 (or 580) MW . It is owned by Naturgy and operated by Naturgy. The power plant went into operation in 1980; it was shut down on June 30, 2020.

The power plant consists of one block. The following table gives an overview:

The annual production in 2004 was 4.341 billion kWh .

From 1980 to 2008 the power plant was supplied with a total of 94 million t of lignite from a nearby opencast mine ; then coal was imported through the port of La Coruña .
