The Prunéřov power plant (in Czech Elektrárny Prunéřov ) is a lignite power plant in the Ústecký kraj region , Czech Republic , which is located in Prunéřov , a district of the city of Kadaň . The Tušimice power plant is located approx. 6 km southeast, the Nechranice reservoir about 8 km southeast of the Prunéřov power plant.

The power plant went into operation in 1967 and is operated by ČEZ .

With an installed capacity of 1,490  MW , Prunéřov is one of the most powerful power plants in the Czech Republic (as of July 2016).

The power plant consists of 11 units that went into operation from 1967 to 1968 and 1981 to 1982, respectively. The following table gives an overview:
