The Puente Nuevo coal-fired power plant is located near Espiel in the province of Córdoba on the Puente Nuevo reservoir. It has an installed capacity of 324 MW and is owned by Viesgo (formerly E.ON España). The power plant was shut down on June 30, 2020.
The power plant is connected with six 132 kV lines and is supplied with coal via a railway branch line from Almorchón .
