The Rucúe power plant ( Spanish Central [hidroeléctrica] Rucúe ) is a diversion power plant on the Río de La Laja in Chile . The power plant is located in Region VIII , about 60 km east of the city of Los Ángeles . Approx. The Antuco power station is 15 km upstream . About 7 km downstream is the Quilleco power station .

The power plant went into operation in 1998. It is owned and operated by Colbún SA .

Barrier structure

On the Río de La Laja , about 5 km below the outlet of the Antuco power plant, a dam was built that diverts the water of the Laja into a canal and leads to the Rucúe power plant about 15 km away.

power plant

The Rucúe power plant has an installed capacity of 178  MW . The average annual production fluctuates: in 2008 it was 0.888 billion kWh and in 2009 it was 1.017 billion kWh.

The two machines of the power plant were put into operation in 1998. The Francis turbines have a maximum output of 89 MW each.
