The Schlappin power plant is a storage power plant in Switzerland above the village of Klosters-Serneus in the canton of Graubünden in the Prättigau / Davos region . The small hydropower plant is owned by the energy supplier Repower .

Structure and history

The power plant center is designed in the local style , similar to a medieval castle. The architect Nicolaus Hartmann executed numerous functional buildings in Graubünden in this style. This is also the case with the underlying Küblis power plant .

The various facilities of the power plant have been renewed in the last few years, only the structure has been preserved in its original state.

Technical specifications

In the power plant control center of the Schlappin power plant above Klosters, the dammed water from the Schlappintal (especially the Schlappinbach ) has been processed since 1928 . The water is collected in the weir near the village of Schlappin and fed to the Schlappin power station via a three-kilometer penstock.

  • Gross head: 453 meters
  • Swallowing volume : 1.7 m³ / second
  • Turbine: a horizontal Pelton turbine
  • electrical power turbine: 7  MW
  • Annual energy production: 30 GWh

After processing in the Schlappin power plant, the water is fed to the Küblis power plant below via a 12 m deep shaft.
