The steam parameters of the power plant are 25 MPa / 600 ° C / 600 ° C, making it one of the supercritical steam power plants. The tandem steam turbines were developed by Toshiba and at the time of construction, with 1000 MW, were the most powerful in the world.

The Taizhou power plant was one of the first ultra-supercritical power plants in China and has an efficiency of 45.2%. 256.2 g of coal are to be used for each kWh of electricity generated.

The investment for units 3 and 4 was 8.61 billion RMB (about 1.2 billion euros ).
