The Teruel power plant ( Central térmica Teruel or Central térmica de Andorra ) is a large lignite-fired power plant in the municipality of Andorra near Teruel in Spain that went into operation in 1981 . It is owned by ENDESA and has a 343 m high chimney, which is one of the tallest free-standing structures in Europe. In 1992 the power plant was equipped with flue gas desulphurisation . Each of the three installed generator groups can achieve an output of 350 MW .
The power plant was shut down on June 30, 2020.
