history
The Iberian settlement from the 5th century BC, now known as Poblado de El Cabo, was located near the village. Andorra was first mentioned by the Moors in 1149 when it was conquered by Ramón Berenguer IV of Barcelona . Andorra was initially a cattle breeding center in the Albalate del Arzobispo, around 20 km to the north, and as such is traced back to a (not to be identified) saint Makarius ( San Macario ). For support in the conquest of Valencia , Andorra received the title of Muy Noble Villa from King James I (Aragón) .

economy
While agriculture (arable farming and cattle breeding) predominated in the past, from 1950 the mining of brown coal (lignite) gained increasing importance, which was carried out in open-cast mining from 1980. The Teruel power plant , a thermal power plant with an output of 1050 megawatts and a 343 m high chimney , was then built in Andorra .
