Valjunquera ( Catalan : Valljunquera ) is a Spanish municipality in the province of Teruel in the autonomous region of Aragón . It is located around 16 kilometers northwest of Valderrobres in the Comarca Matarraña (Matarranya) in the predominantly Catalan-speaking area of Franja de Aragón . On January 1, 2019, the community had 330 inhabitants.
history
In the vicinity of the mainly agrarian community are three archaeological sites from the Iberian era : Mirablanc, Castellar and Lliri. The originally walled place should go back to an Arab foundation; he came to the Order of Calatrava after the Reconquista .
