The Ullúm power plant ( Spanish Central hidroeléctrica Ullúm ) is a hydroelectric power plant in the province of San Juan , Argentina . It is also known as the Ullúm hydroelectric power plant complex (Spanish Complejo hidroeléctrico Ullúm ).

Construction of the power plant began in October 1960. It was completed in October 1969. The power plant is state-owned ( Provincia de San Juan ). AES Argentina Generación SA was granted the license to operate the facility on March 18, 1996.

The machine house of the Ullúm power plant is located about 10 km from the Punta Negra dam . After the water has passed the turbines of the Punta Negra power station, it is passed through a canal to the Ullúm power station.

The installed capacity of the power plant is 45  MW . The average annual generation is given as 183 (or 225) million  kWh . The two Francis turbines have a maximum output of 22.5 MW each. The nominal speed of the turbines is 300 min −1 . The fall height is 74 m. The flow rate is 73.5 m³ / s.
