The power plant Unterstufe Lutz is a run-of-river power plant of illwerke vkw AG in the municipality of Bludesch in Vorarlberg . It was built between 1957 and 1959 by the Vorarlberg power plants in the lower reaches of the Lutz . The power plant has an installed capacity of 8.6 MW and produces more than 38 GWh of electrical energy annually .
A 4.6 km long penstock leads from the Gstins reservoir over a head of 72 m to the power house, in which two Francis turbines with vertical shafts are installed. After the turbine, the water flows into the Ill via an underwater channel .
