The power plant WA Parish is a coal and gas power plant in Thompsons, south of Houston ( Texas ). With a total installed capacity of over 3.6 GW, it is the largest conventional power plant in the USA.

The coal blocks burn low-sulfur coal from the Powder River Basin .

The CO 2 from the flue gas of block 8 is to be separated in the CCS project Petra Nova and used for tertiary oil extraction . The plan is to complete the system by the end of 2016.
