The Yokkaichi power plant ( Japanese 四日 市 火力 発 電 所 , Yokkaichi karyoku hatsudensho ) is a gas-fired power plant owned by the Chūbu Denryoku electricity company in Japan , which is located on the west side of Ise Bay on an embankment in Yokkaichi in Mie Prefecture . It has an installed capacity of 1,245  MW .

Power plant units

The power plant consists of a total of eight units with different capacities that went into operation in 1963 and 1988. The following table gives an overview:

block Max. Power (MW) Start of operation turbine generator Steam boiler Type
1 220 06.1963 Steam turbine (DT)
2 220 07.1963 DT
3 220 09.1963 DT
4th 113 02.1988 Gas turbine (GT)
5 113 06.1988 GT
6th 113 06.1988 GT
7th 113 07.1988 GT
8th 113 07.1988 GT

The steam generators of the steam turbines and the waste heat steam generators ( HRSG ) of the gas turbines come from General Electric , MHI and Toshiba . The turbines and generators were supplied by General Electric and Toshiba.

fuel

All units in the power plant use LNG as fuel. There are other Chubu power plants around Ise Bay that use LNG as fuel. The Chita LNG terminal on the east side of the Ise Bay has therefore been connected to the Kawagoe power plant on the west side via two pipelines (in a 13.3 km long tunnel under the seabed) since September 2013 in order to increase security of supply. Kawagoe, in turn, is connected to Yokkaichi via another tunnel. In January 2014 the Mie-Shiga Gas Pipeline was inaugurated, which connects the Yokkaichi power plant with the Taga Governor Station of the Osaka Gas company . It is approx. 60 km long and also serves to increase security of supply.
