Krastjo Sarafov
Krastjo Petrow Sarafow ( Bulgarian Кръстьо Петров Сарафов ; born April 6, 1876 in Libjachowo , † August 27, 1952 in Sofia ) was a Bulgarian actor .
Life
Sarafov studied with Aleksander Pawlowisch Lenski at the drama school in Saint Petersburg . As an actor he worked at the National Theater in Sofia .
Among his most important roles were Nikita in The Power of Darkness by Leo Tolstoy , Fedja in The Living Corpse by Leo Tolstoy, Famusow in Verstand creates Suffering by Alexander Sergejewitsch Gribojedow , Golemanow by Kostow and Tartuffe by Molière .
He is considered one of the most important representatives and pioneers of the Bulgarian theater and was awarded the Dimitrov Prize . The National Theater was named after him from 1952 to 1962. Today the National Academy for Theater and Film Arts "Krastjo Sarafow" bears his name.
His brother was the freedom fighter Boris Sarafov (1872-1907).
