The Krauss type XV was a steam locomotive class of the Munich company Krauss & Co .
The Werra Railway Company ordered seven locomotives and listed them as numbers 40-46 in their locomotive park. These small locomotives were intended for use on short routes. An order from other private railway companies is likely. The locomotives of the Werra Railway were taken over by the Prussian State Railway in 1895 , later pushed into subordinate services by the Prussian T 3 and sold to industrial companies from 1903.
In 1890, locomotive 44 exploded in Schleusingen station ( see there ). From then on the Werra Railway no longer ordered any locomotives from Krauss.
