The KBF T1001 was a combustion railcar developed in 1929 .

Originally the railcar was run as a gasoline-electric railcar with unknown origin and locations. At an unexplained point in time, it was rebuilt by Linke-Hofmann-Busch and then operated as a diesel-electric vehicle at the Beeskow-Fürstenwalde (KBF) circuit . It came to the Deutsche Reichsbahn after 1945 and was designated as VT 137 526 . The railcar was in use until the mid-1960s and was retired and scrapped in 1968.

history

The history of the railcar is not clearly clarified. It is said to have been built in 1929, the first deployment site is not mentioned. From an unexplained point in time, he was used on the Fürstenwalde – Beeskow district railway. One source mentions the year 1937 as stationing at the KBF, another source mentions 1942 as the renovation date.

After 1945 the railcar is said to have been used on loan from the Kleinbahn Freienwalde – Zehden , the designation T 502 is accepted, the railcar is not listed in the local vehicle lists.

VT 137 526

Further stationing dates are the RBD Berlin on January 1, 1950, the Karlshorst depot on January 1, 1955 , and January 1, 1960.

The last place of use was the Bw Frankfurt (Oder) P , where the railcar was parked on August 3, 1963. There are photos that show the railcar parked in the RAW Dessau in October 1964 . In 1965 he was listed in Frankfurt (Oder). It was retired on October 3, 1968 and scrapped in the same year.

Constructive features

There are unclear details in the structural design. Vehicles built in 1929 still had bodies with rivet construction. It is possible that the railcar received a new car body when it was rebuilt.

The first machine system was described with gasoline-electric power transmission. After the rebuild he had a diesel engine from MAN with the designation W8 V 17.5 / 22 and electrical equipment from AEG .
