Architecture and history
The half-timbered building was built in 1810. The facade is largely designed without decorations. It served as a bathing and guest house for the spa guests as the spa began. Already in 1812 there was an extension by five axes. From 1817 the building only served as a boarding house. It was designed in the same way as the bathhouse in Kreisstraße 10a and the Alexisbad spa, which was demolished in 2003 , and with these buildings it formed the center of the spa complex.
Major alterations were then initiated between 1891 and 1893 by the then owner of the Mägdesprung ironworks and the spa facilities, Traugott Wenzel. The house received distinctive corner towers, the design of which is based on Chinese style elements . In addition, two- story arcades were placed in front of the building .
