geography
The wilderness of Kreuzberg is located about one kilometer northwest of Wessobrunn on the St2057 state road on the western slope of a 755 m high moraine hill .
history
In 955 invading Hungarians murdered the abbot and monks of the nearby Wessobrunn monastery . The so-called Hunnenstein, on which the monks are said to have been executed, is located in the Kreuzberg chapel. There is also a ceiling painting that is reminiscent of martyrdom.
Later Kreuzberg belonged to the closed Klosterhofmark Wessobrunn . In 1761 five properties are mentioned, four quarter courtyards and one eighth courtyard. All farms were landable for the Wessobrunn monastery, the high jurisdiction lay with the Landsberg district court .
