The monument for the victims of the First World War was erected in massive forms in the 1920s according to plans by the Darmstadt architect C. Böhm in an exposed location. The monument was inaugurated in 1929.
A basalt rubble tower with four openings, covered by a flat concrete dome, is located on an octagonal floor plan . In the center is a black granite column with an iron cross and the names of the victims. Axially to the memorial on the slope side there is a two-flight staircase made of quarry stone .
The war memorial is a cultural monument for historical reasons.
