Kaunas War School
The Kaunas War School (lit. Kauno karo mokykla ) was a military educational institution from 1919 to 1940 in the then Lithuanian capital Kaunas . The school was located in the Panemunė district .
history
The Kaunas War School was opened on March 8, 1919. In July 1919 the statutes of the war school were confirmed. The training initially only lasted four months. Among the first 96 graduates on July 6, 1919, there were seven NCOs with the right to promotion to officers. In 1920 the training lasted one year, from 1921 two years and from 1935 three years. From 1919 to 1920 there were three graduate ranks (434 officers, 32 of them in aviation ). By 1940 there were 21 graduate ranks.
