Kristopher "Kris" Marshall (born April 11, 1973 in Malmesbury ) is a British actor in film and television.

Life

Marshall grew up in the Cotswolds , but also spent parts of his childhood in Hong Kong and Canada . He attended Wells Cathedral School , which he graduated with the A-Level . One of his jobs in his youth was the Redroofs Stage School . He started his career when he appeared in the English soap opera The Bill . In 2000 he had his breakthrough as Nick Harper on the sitcom My Family . This role earned him the 2002 British Comedy Award for Best Newcomer. He played in various films and television series and in 2006 also played theater. From 2014 to 2017 Marshall played the role of Detective Humphrey Goodman in the British television series Death in Paradise . The previous leading actor Ben Miller left the series during the third season and was replaced by him.
