Kristin Brinker (* 1972 in Bernburg ) is a German architect and politician ( AfD ). Brinker has been a member of the Berlin House of Representatives since 2016 .

Life

education

Kristin Brinker was born in Bernburg in 1972, and graduated from high school in 1990. After graduating from high school, she worked as an investment advisor at Berliner Volksbank and trained as a cooperative banker .

Brinker studied architecture from 1994 to 1999 for a diploma at the Technical University of Berlin , she wrote her diploma thesis on the conversion of existing apartments into living space suitable for the elderly. In August 2005 she received her doctorate from the Technical University, also in the field of architecture, with a dissertation on the subject of "The image of old age and its influence on forms of living for older people in Germany in the 20th century - a socio-political and building-typological investigation".

Since 2000 Brinker has been working as a freelancer in the field of property management / property and construction management.

Political commitment

Kristin Brinker joined the Alternative for Germany party in spring 2013 . Brinker is considered “ liberal ” and, according to media reports, joined the party mainly “because of the criticism of the euro rescue policy ” and less because of the emerging right-wing populist - right-wing conservative currents. Brinker is considered to be well networked within the Berlin regional association of the AfD , she is a member of the Steglitz-Zehlendorf district association .

In the Berlin House of Representatives election in September 2016 , Brinker moved into the House of Representatives at number 6 on the AfD's list . Brinker is a member of the main committee of the House of Representatives and was elected deputy chairman of the House of Representatives group of the AfD.

Brinker's parliamentary inquiry about the remuneration from supervisory board positions of Senate members in August 2020 led to the resignation of Senator for Construction Katrin Lompscher with immediate effect.

A short time later, on August 11, she herself had to resign from her position as deputy chairwoman of the AfD parliamentary group in Berlin. In a parliamentary group meeting of the AfD, the suspicion was confirmed that they should have known about the alleged manipulation of an auditor's report by the already dismissed parliamentary group manager Andreas Einfinger.

Private

Brinker is married to the former head of the Berlin AfD, Günter Brinker .
