Kristine Nitzsche

Kristine Nitzsche (born June 1, 1959 in Leipzig ) is a German athlete who - starting for the GDR - was active in pentathlon and high jump .

At the Junior European Championships in 1977 she was double winner - in the high jump (1.88 m) and in the pentathlon (4409 points: 14.39 s - 11.85 m - 1.88 m - 6.25 m - 2: 17.9 min) . At the European Championships in Prague in 1978 she won the bronze medal in the pentathlon (4599 points: 14.02 s - 12.77 m - 1.93 m - 6.13 m - 2: 12.7 min). In the high jump competition at these European Championships she was eleventh (1.80 m). Between 1977 and 1985 she played 15 international matches for the DVfL . In 1979 she became East German champion in high jump and pentathlon in the hall.

Kristine Nitzsche belonged to the SC Cottbus . During her competition time she was 1.87 m tall and weighed 78 kg. In the documents on state doping in the GDR that became public after the fall of the Wall , the name of Nitzsche was also found among the doped athletes.
