Kristine Raahauge

Kristine Raahauge (* 1949 in Alluitsoq ) is a Greenlandic politician ( Siumut ) and Eskimologist .

Life

Kristine Raahauge was trained as an office worker. From 1984 she worked as an assistant teacher. In the same year she became director of the Nanortalik Museum . She co-authored some scientific articles about the Inuit in South Greenland.

In 1993 she was elected mayor of the municipality of Nanortalik . In 1995 she was elected to the Inatsisartut for a legislative period until 1999 . In 1997 she resigned as mayor. In 2005 she was elected once more as the last mayor of the municipality of Nanortalik before the administrative reform in 2009.
