The 2008/09 season was the 18th season of the Croatian Ice Hockey League , the highest Croatian ice hockey league . Champion was for the 13th time in the history of the KHL Medveščak Zagreb .

In the main round, each of the three teams played a total of four games. All three teams qualified for the playoffs in which the champions were played out. The best second division team HK Sisak also took part in these. Each team received three points for a win after regular time, two points for a win after overtime, one point for a loss after overtime and zero points for a defeat after regular time.
