Krystal Meyers
Krystal Meyers (born July 31, 1988 ; married Krystal Hawkins ) is an American Christian rock singer .
Life
Krystal Meyers moved to Tennessee with her parents and brother in 1998 . There she regularly took part in summer camps, where she became familiar with songwriting. Meyers wrote her first songs at the age of 10 and began playing the acoustic guitar at the age of 13. She first became known through her song Anticonformity , which she wrote on one of the camps with her friend. In June 2005 she released her first album Krystal Meyers , on which Anticonformity can be heard. In 2006 the second album Dying for a Heart followed . Her music is particularly popular with young people in Japan, where it hit the charts a few times.
style
The music of the first two albums moves strongly between punk, rock and pop. There are rock songs like Collide, Anticonformity or Fire as well as ballad-like songs like The Beauty Of Grace or Sing For Me . In general, she is often compared to Avril Lavigne , Katy Perry or Kelly Clarkson . In her third album Meyers did not turn her back on rock, but showed more and more similarities with the music of the 80s. Her style used to be reminiscent of Avril Lavigne, but since her new album more like Christina Aguilera or Britney Spears .
Her texts deal with the problems of young people, the fight against superficiality and a good relationship with God .
End of career
Meyers has not appeared in public since 2010. Since then she has worked as a worship leader and pastor at "Grace Chapel Knoxville". She has three children with her husband, Pastor Alex Hawkins. Their disappearance from the public eye and the sudden inactivity in the social media caused heated discussions and conspiracy theories in these very same areas.
