Krystof Zlatnik

Krystof Zlatnik (born January 9, 1980 in Stuttgart ) is a German director and author .

Life

After graduating from high school and two years of practical experience in production companies and on numerous film sets, he began his studies in feature film directing at the Baden-Württemberg Film Academy in 2003 . In 2007 he was awarded the Baden-Württemberg Scholarship to participate in the “Hollywood Workshop” at the UCLA Extension in Los Angeles. His science fiction short film Das Leuchten (2007) and his graduation film Lys (2010) were awarded the Caligari Prize and shown at festivals around the world. Since his diploma in 2009 he has been a freelance director and author. Krystof is a founding member of the New German Genre Film and since 2013 co-organizer and program manager of the Genrenale , which took place for the first time in February 2013 in Berlin parallel to the Berlinale and is the first film festival exclusively dedicated to German genre film. In 2014 he founded the permanent Writers Room Development Hell with the authors Jan Cronauer , Felix Koch and Mark Wachholz , with which he develops fabrics for various production companies.

In addition to developing various scripts, in 2012 he shot the crowdfunded teaser for the end-of-time action series Land of Giants , which he developed as a co-creator with Roundhousefilm GmbH for the international market. In 2015 he made his full- length film debut as a director with the action thriller Immigration Game , which premiered at Genrenale5 in 2017.
