Krystyna Berwińska

Krystyna Danuta Berwińska-Bargiełowska (born February 4, 1919 in Warsaw ; † November 19, 2016 ) was a Polish writer and translator.

Life

Berwińska began studying English at the University of Warsaw in 1938 . During the German occupation she studied at an underground institute for drama. Her teachers included Jan Kreczmar , Marian Wyżykowski , Zofia Małanicz , Maria Wiercińska , Bohdan Korzeniewski , Leon Schiller and Stanisław Daczyński . After the war she went to Łódź and studied at the State Theater School .

She made her debut as an author in 1945 with radio plays for children and young people. Later she also wrote plays and film scripts as well as novels.
