Life

She was initially tutored by Marija Gasele . She later studied with Owen Murray at the Royal Academy of Music , London, and earned a Masters degree with honors.

In February 2009 she was a recipient of the Friends of the Royal Academy of Music Wigmore Award . In May of the same year she made her debut appearance at Wigmore Hall . In the same year, Young Artists appeared in the Park Lane Group , which The Times called "one of the real discoveries of the concert series". Numerous other awards and prizes at international competitions followed. In Switzerland she performed at the Lucerne Festival , and other international appearances have taken her to France, Italy, Lithuania, the USA, Germany and Norway. She made music on radio and television programs in the United Kingdom, France and Germany, including in 2013 the show Stars von Morgen with Rolando Villazón . In 2014 she was part of the Night of the Proms concert series . In February and March 2015 she performed in Israel; her tour took her to the cities of Jerusalem, Tel Aviv and Haifa.

music

Ksenija Sidorova's repertoire includes classics from Bach to Mozart to contemporary compositions. She is happy to introduce lesser-known composers from Eastern Europe to the public - but also better-known ones such as Astor Piazzolla . In general, the tango plays an important role for her . She is constantly expanding her repertoire and that of the accordion - she wants to bring it closer to the audience as a serious, universally applicable instrument, to free it from the nimbus of the “umtata”, as she jokingly calls it. Constantly looking for original compositions, she works intensively with contemporary composers. She also appears occasionally as an accompanist to chansons , for occasional pop music interludes and improvisations.
