Performing in tournaments

Cuba has taken part in all five of the CONCACAF championship so far. They reached the final in four tournaments, but always remained there without a win. In 1996 and 2004 they were defeated by the USA (3: 7 and 0: 2), in 2000 Costa Rica (0: 2) and in 2008 Guatemala in the penalty shootout with 3: 5. In 2012, Cuba was eliminated in the preliminary round and could not qualify for the World Cup in the same year.

Due to the good results at the continental championship, they regularly qualified for the world championship. There they stayed without a point in 1996, 2000 and 2004 and were therefore always eliminated as bottom of the table.
