The Kudma ( Russian Кудьма ) is a right tributary of the Volga in the Russian Oblast of Nizhny Novgorod .

The Kudma rises 16 km north-northwest of Chernukha . It initially flows in a northerly direction. In the lower reaches it turns to the east. It passes the middle town of Kstowo and flows into the Volga 40 km southeast of Nizhny Novgorod . The most important tributary is the Osjorka from the right.

The Kudma has a length of 144 km. It drains an area of ​​3220 km². The river is mainly fed by the snowmelt . The mean discharge 54 km above the mouth is 5.75 m³ / s. Maximum discharge is 236 m³ / s, the lowest discharge is 0.21 m³ / s.
