The Kuerek (also Mahaut River ) is a river on the coast in eastern Dominica in the Parish Saint David , in the Carib Territory .

geography

The Mahaut River rises on the eastern slope of Morne La Source in the Carib Territory . Ravine Djerrick (W) and Ravine Bois Diable (w) also arise in close proximity on the opposite side of the watershed. The river runs steadily to the east and flows into the Atlantic in the Anse Maho . The river is about 2.4 km long. Just a few meters north of its mouth, the small Kuanaro also flows into the Atlantic.

In the south, the catchment area borders on that of the Madjini River (Akayuma).

Several other bodies of water in Dominica have similar names, such as the Mahaut River (Rosalie Bay) further south at Rivière Cirique, the Mahaut River (Caribbean Sea) in the Parish Saint Paul and the Ravine Mahaut near Petite Soufrièré .
