The Kuhn SA, based in Saverne (Alsace) is an agricultural machinery manufacturer and subsidiary of the Swiss Bucher Industries .
history
The company was founded by Joseph Kuhn in 1828. In 1864 the production of agricultural machinery began. After the Second World War, the company was taken over by Bucher Industries in 1946.
In 1987 the agricultural machinery manufacturer Huard (easily confused with Howard) was integrated. Huard had specialized in no-till machines, plows and disc harrows. In 1993 Audureau was bought. They specialized in the areas of forage extraction and spraying. In 1996 it was merged with Nodet: Drills and trailed sprayers were produced here. Manure spreaders and other feed mixer models supplemented the range from 2002 through the takeover of KNIGHT Manufacturing Corporation. The takeover of the Brazilian company METASA S / A, which focused on the cotton, corn and soybean sowing market, followed in 2005. In 2008 the syringe manufacturer Blanchard was taken over. In December 2008, the press and drum mower division of Kverneland with the former PZ Zweegers plant in Geldrop, Netherlands (with the naming rights of PZ), where presses and mowers are also produced for Deutz-Fahr , was bought for 115 million euros .
In autumn 2018, Kuhn took over Artec Pulvérisation, a French manufacturer of crop protection sprayers , in which Kuhn had previously held a stake.
