Kumgeçit ( Kurmanji : Bazîvan even Bazîwan) is a jesidisches village in the southeast of Turkey . The village is located about 20 km southeast of Beşiri in the district of the same name Beşiri in the Batman province . The place is located in Southeast Anatolia .

History and population

The original name of the village is Bazivan (also Baziwan). The villages were renamed as a result of the Turkishization of geographical names in Turkey . Today Kumgeçit is mostly an abandoned village. The village had an exclusively Yazidi population.

In 2000 there were still 15 people living in the village. In 2012 5 families lived there.
