Kumiko Imura

Kumiko Imura ( Japanese 井村 久 美 子 , Imura Kumiko ; born January 10, 1981 in Sakata , formerly Kumiko Ikeda ) is a Japanese long jumper .

She won the bronze medal in the long jump discipline at the World Junior Athletics Championships in Santiago de Chile in 2000 and at the 2001 Summer Universiade in Beijing . At the 2001 World Athletics Championships in Edmonton , she was eleventh. At the Asian Athletics Championships in 2005, she won the bronze medal and at the XV. At the 2006 Asian Games in Doha , she even took first place in her discipline.

Her personal best is 6.86 meters and was achieved in May 2006 in Osaka . This is also the current Japanese record.
