Kungsträdgården is an underground station on the Stockholm Metro , which is located below the square of the same name . It is located in the Norrmalm district . The station is the southern terminus of the Blå linjen of the Stockholm metro system . It is one of the less frequented stations on the subway network. 7,000 commuters get on here on a normal working day.
The station went into operation on October 30, 1977 as the 91st underground station when the Blå linjen was extended from T-Centralen to Kungsträdgården. The station was built using the cut-and-cover method, the platforms are approx. 34 meters below ground. The next station is T-Centralen. It is around one kilometer to Stockholm Central Station .
