Spa W. Güthe
The building of the former bath house Kurbad W. Güthe is located in the old town of Uetersen , Pinneberg district and is a listed building.
The building is a two-storey eaves house with a hipped roof in the style of late classicism , with double-leaf windows and plastered brickwork. What is striking about the building is the double-leaf front door and the protruding outside staircase, which was reconstructed from a historical copper engraving . It was built in the second quarter of the 19th century by the lawyer Kirchhof on an island-like property near the monastery of Uetersen . After the founding of the Uetersener Eisenbahn , it became the first station hotel in Uetersen, which was in operation until after the Second World War . After the hotel was closed, a vulcanizing shop was opened in the building , which closed again after a few years. After a renovation into a building, the medical bathhouse Kurbad W. Güthe , known beyond the borders of Uetersen, was opened, which was in operation until 1990. After another renovation, the building now houses a law office and a restaurant serving German cuisine.
The building is due to the townscape appearance and historical and architectural value as a cultural monument under monument protection .
