Kuro "KuroKy" Salehi Takhasomi (born October 28, 1992 ) is a professional, Iranian-born German Dota 2 player who has been the captain of Team Liquid's Dota 2 team since 2015 . In 2017, he and this team won the Dota 2 championship tournament The International 2017 , which was the highest endowed esports tournament in the world to date . With more than 5 million US dollars in prize money, he is the financially most successful German e-athlete and is in 6th place worldwide.

Career

KuroKy played his first esports tournament when he was 16 years old. He made his first appearance in Dota 2 with the team "Gosugamers.net" at The International 2011 during the presentation of the game at Gamescom in Cologne , but was eliminated in the group stage. KuroKy, now playing as a substitute for Mousesports , could not improve his result at The International 2012 either. After the tournament he joined Mousesports as a regular player, but it was not until he switched to Na'Vi on February 28, 2013, the winners of The International 2011, that KuroKy was able to achieve greater success. With Na'vi 2013 - who were finalists for the third time in a row - he was second in The International 2013, beaten only by the Swedish team Alliance . After a shared seventh place at The International 2014 , KuroKy left Na'Vi on August 18, 2014. A short time later, the change to the newly founded Team Secret became known. With Team Secret he took part in The International 2015 and reached the shared seventh and eighth place. In August 2015 KuroKy switched to 5Jungz , where he played with Lasse "MATUMBAMAN" Urpalainen , among others . The team was signed by Team Liquid in October 2015 . With Team Liquid, KuroKy finished second at the beginning of March at the Shanghai Major, a premier tournament hosted by Dota 2 developer Valve . In 2017, as the captain of Team Liquid, he won the e-sports tournament The International 2017, which had been worth over 24 million US dollars .

In November 2019, he and his teammates founded the new organization Team Nigma .
