The Kuroiwaberget ( Norwegian ; Japanese 黒 岩山 Kuroiwa-yama , German 'Black Rock Mountain' ) is a 1805 m (according to Japanese data 1793 m ) high mountain in the East Antarctic Queen Maud Land . In Sør Rondane it rises southeast of Berrheia in Balchenfjella .
Japanese scientists mapped it using aerial photographs from 1981 to 1982 and 1987, as well as with the help of measurements from 1983. They named it descriptively in 1989. Scientists at the Norwegian Polar Institute translated this name into Norwegian in 1990.
