Kurowo (Bobolice)

Kurowo ( German  Kurow ) is a village in the West Pomeranian Voivodeship in Poland . The village belongs to the Gmina Bobolice (urban and rural municipality Bublitz) in the Powiat Koszaliński (Kösliner Kreis) .

Geographical location

The village is located in Western Pomerania , about 150 km northeast of Stettin and about 9 km north of the center of Bublitz .

history

In Ludwig Wilhelm Brüggemann's Detailed Description of the Royal Prussian Duchy of Western and Western Pomerania (1784), Curow, as it was then written, is listed under the villages of the Bublitz office in the Principality of Cammin . In Curow at that time there was a preacher (pastor), a sexton, 15 farmers, four cottagers, three more "small houses" and three "farmer's cathedrals", a total of 33 households ("fireplaces"). Twelve peasants and the four Kossäts from Curow had to do their service at the Vorwerk Schloßkämpen, which belonged to the office . The residents of Curow were obliged to have them milled in the Bevenhusenschen watermill belonging to the office ("forced meal guests").

When the Fürstenthum district was divided up in 1872 , Kurow became part of the Bublitz district . In 1910 the rural community Kurow had 607 inhabitants, in 1925 838 inhabitants in 135 households. The rural community Kurow became part of the Köslin district in 1932 when the Bublitz district was dissolved . In addition to Kurow, there were the residential areas Bergland , Bewerhusen , Fichthof , Grüne Wiese , Kurower Mühle , Laubkrug , Schierlitz , Switzerland , Zeblin and Zebliner Mühle .

In 1945 Kurow came to Poland, like all of Western Pomerania. The population was evicted and replaced by Poles . The place name was Polonized to "Kurowo". Today the place belongs to the Gmina Bobolice (town and country municipality Bublitz) , in which it forms its own Schulzenamt .
