He first attended the Gauss School and later took courses at the German University of Politics . After passing the relevant state exams, he became head of the district of Prenzlauer Berg . After the " seizure of power " by the National Socialists , Arnold was dismissed in 1933 "for political reasons" and worked again as a technical draftsman.
After the Second World War , Arnold initially worked in the Lichtenberg district office , but one year later he was elected to the district council for social affairs by the district council in the Steglitz district. In the Berlin election in 1950 he was elected to the Berlin House of Representatives, but left again in June 1951 because he was still a district councilor. In the following election in 1954 , Arnold left again after two months. He died in office as a welfare councilor after a serious illness. His successor as a city councilor was Otto Sperling .
The senior citizens' house "Kurt Arnold" in Mudrastrasse in Berlin-Lankwitz was named in his honor .
