Kurt Barthel (politician)
Kurt Barthel (born February 11, 1921 in Berlin ; † July 1, 2007 there ) was a German politician ( SPD ).
After elementary school, Barthel completed an apprenticeship as a grocery retailer. In 1938 he was drafted into the Reich Labor Service and then drafted into the Wehrmacht. In 1945 he became an American prisoner of war, from which he was released in 1947. From 1949 he was employed by the district office of Neukölln - initially as a candidate, from 1952 as an administrative employee in the sports department.
Barthel joined the SPD in 1947. Within the party he was mainly involved in the field of youth care. The Berlin House of Representatives belonged Barthel in the second term that he pushed for the February 26, 1955 Kurt Exner after. He resigned from parliament on January 11, 1956.
