Kurt Claasen (born January 9, 1908 in Itzehoe ; † unknown (declared dead)) was involved as SS-Hauptsturmführer in the " Aktion Reinhardt ".

Claasen joined the SS (SS No. 29,338) early on. After the German invasion of Poland he was in the district of Radom for ethnic Germans self-protection , a mainly of members of the German minority in Poland auxiliary police formed, the Polish in the expulsion and murder of citizens participated.

Claasen was later on the staff of the SS and Police Leader (SSPF) of Lublin , Odilo Globocnik . Globocnik led the genocide of the Polish Jews in the Generalgouvernement in " Aktion Reinhardt ". The deployment of staff on Globocnik's staff was handled very flexibly. In Globocnik's staffing plan , Claasen was identified as a clerk in the department for Jewish affairs under Hermann Höfle . These clerks, including Amon Göth and Georg Michalsen , organized the evacuation of ghettos and the transports to the extermination camps . Claasen was also responsible for the so-called “labor deployment”, the deployment of forced laborers , on Globocnik's close staff . In addition to the Reinhardt campaign, Globocnik was also responsible for setting up SS and police bases. Claasen took over the management of the branch in Mogilew , possibly he also led the branch in Białystok and Minsk .

After Globocnik's transfer to Trieste in September 1943, Claasen stayed in Lublin and was employed as staff leader of the new SSPF Jakob Sporrenberg there. His further fate is unknown. He was pronounced dead after the end of the war and no prosecution took place. In the literature his name is sometimes incorrectly spelled "Classen".
