Kurt Grigoleit

Kurt Grigoleit (born January 17, 1924 in Essen , † December 19, 1988 in Lucerne ) was a German cameraman .

During the Second World War he completed his training as a cameraman and initially worked as a war correspondent for the German newsreel. After the end of the war he became a camera assistant with Konstantin Irmen-Tschet . As a simple cameraman he was involved in several productions, including Martin Luther in 1952 .

His first independent work was a few short documentaries. He has been making feature films since 1955, where he was repeatedly used for productions that, in the peculiar manner of German films of the late 1950s, revolved around the topic of sexuality. In the 1960s he was hired several times for US productions made in Europe, and he was also increasingly active in television.

Since March 1970 Grigoleit lived in Switzerland. There he founded his own production company, which was limited to the production of commercials. From 1962 he was married to the actress Elisabeth Müller , whom he met in 1958 while filming Rommel calls Cairo .
