Kurt Kestler

Kurt Kestler (* July 22, 1922 , † July 11, 2003 ) was a German local politician of the SPD .

Career

After the Second World War, Kestler co-founded the SPD in Schwabach . In 1946 he became an administrative member of the SPD local association Schwabach and was its first chairman from 1956 to 1972. From 1948 to 1996 he was a member of the Schwabach city council and there from 1956 to 1960 deputy parliamentary group chairman and from 1960 to 1972 parliamentary group chairman. From 1972 to 1990 he was Mayor and Deputy Mayor Hartwig Reimann (SPD).

In 1946 he was the founder and until 1961 head of the youth union in Schwabach and one of the re-founders of the former TSV Schwabach 04 workers' sports club . He was also a judge at the Ansbach Administrative Court and a member of the vocational training committee of the Nuremberg Chamber of Commerce for many years .

The Kurt Kestler honorary award of the Schwabacher SPD is named after him.
