Kurt Kröning

Kurt Kröning (born March 29, 1893 in Damerkow , Stolp district , † after 1951 ) was a German politician and member of parliament ( LDP ).

Life

Kurt Kröning did a commercial apprenticeship after attending middle school. From 1912 to 1919 he worked in leading positions in the grain trade and in agricultural cooperatives. In 1919 he started his own business. He later bought a potato flake factory.

In July 1945 he was one of the founders of the Liberal Democratic Party in Stralsund , of which he became chairman in July 1946. He was city councilor and parliamentary group leader of the LDP in Stralsund as well as a member of the state executive committee and the central executive committee of the party. He was also an assessor at the labor court and chairman of the supervisory board of the Bank for Commerce and Industry.

From 1946 he was a member of the Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania state parliament and was the second vice-president of the state parliament. He was a member of the German People's Council and until October 1950 of the People's Chamber .

In 1951 he was expelled from the LDP. His state parliament and people chamber mandates were withdrawn from him. In 1952 he is said to have fled to West Germany. According to other sources, he committed suicide in Berlin in 1951 after he was accused of having relations with West German reactionary circles during a conversation to which the State Security Service (MfS) had summoned him.
